What you will do

• Produce, write, edit, and gather content for WCAU newscasts and digital platforms.
• Line-produce newscasts and oversee coverage of assigned stories across platforms.
• Collaborate with assignment editors, reporters, anchors, managers, the digital team, and the assignment desk.
• Write accurate, fair, and up-to-date news scripts and contribute story ideas and daily coverage decisions.
• Participate as a key communicator and leader during newsroom editorial meetings.
• Edit video clips and use graphic tools to enhance news stories.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of newsgathering and/or production experience in a mid- to major-market environment.
• At least 2 years of experience writing, producing, and using desktop editing systems in a mid- to major-market environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience line-producing newscasts and editing content on a desktop editing system.
• Ability to make priority decisions and deliver developing news accurately under deadline pressure.
• Unrestricted work authorization in the United States is required; the position must be performed full-time on-site at an hirify.global-designated worksite.
