Senior Director, Agentic Engineering (AI)

Location: United States

Salary: $300,000–$360,000 USD per year, plus potential short- and long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Define the multi-year vision, strategy, roadmap, and platform investment plan for agentic engineering.
• Build and lead teams developing reusable agents, workflow orchestration, context and knowledge access, tool integrations, evaluation, observability, and governance.
• Create paved-road capabilities that enable Product, Design, Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to adopt agentic workflows.
• Partner with Retail, Hospitality, Payments, and platform leaders to launch and scale high-value AI use cases.
• Establish evaluation, reliability, security, cost, human-oversight, and responsible-AI standards for production workflows.
• Hire, coach, and develop engineering leaders while driving adoption and organizational change across distributed teams.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience leading managers, senior technical talent, and high-performing software engineering organizations.
• Experience defining and scaling internal platforms, developer platforms, shared engineering capabilities, or infrastructure products.
• Experience building or deploying AI-enabled and agentic systems, including model and tool orchestration, retrieval and context systems, evaluation, automation, observability, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, Design, Data, Security, Privacy, Legal, and business stakeholders.
• Strong standards for architecture, engineering quality, operational resilience, responsible AI, security, and cost management.
