TL;DR
Data Model Architect (Data Warehousing): Designing and implementing conceptual and physical data models that reduce redundancy, streamline data movement, and support enterprise information management with an accent on relational and dimensional modeling, metadata management, and data governance. Focus on translating business needs into scalable models, establishing DataOps and CI/CD practices, and troubleshooting interoperability and efficiency issues across data systems.

Location: Remote within the United States; open to residents of Washington, D.C.

Salary: $70,202.25–$111,000 per year, with potential bonus and benefits for eligible employees.

What you will do

  • Translate business needs into conceptual data models.
  • Work with platform architects, product owners, data analysts, and development teams to create physical data models and implementation road maps.
  • Establish data modeling best practices and align models with data classification and governance objectives.
  • Review data models for variance, efficiency, interoperability, and consistency.
  • Promote the effective use of data models across business needs.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize data models and support data transformations.

Requirements

  • At least five years of hands-on experience with relational and dimensional data modeling.
  • Expert knowledge of metadata management and related tools.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills and attention to detail, including the ability to anticipate edge cases in real-world datasets.
  • Knowledge of software engineering, DevOps, CI/CD, and DataOps practices, including source control, automated testing, and automated deployments; Jenkins experience is preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% and clear a required background check.

Nice to have

  • CBIP certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with dbt, Snowflake, Alation, and Power BI.
