Partner 20, Social Media Lead, Crypto

Location: United States; remote with occasional in-office presence required for team offsites, conferences, events, and business needs. West Coast time coverage is included.

Salary: $199,000–$232,000 annually, plus eligibility for carry, discretionary bonuses, and benefits.

What you will do

• Grow a16z crypto’s social channels and engage relevant communities and audiences.
• Adapt and distribute editorial content, podcast appearances, media interviews, investment announcements, events, and industry conference content across social platforms.
• Create and produce native social content, campaigns, clips, and other short-form formats.
• Build content calendars, operational processes, and production pipelines from ideas through execution.
• Test content hypotheses, analyze performance, and report insights with the audience development lead.
• Advise a16z crypto teams and portfolio companies on social media strategy, profile building, and brand voice.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience owning or driving social media for a high-visibility or high-growth brand.
• Experience with X, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
• Ability to adapt style and voice across formats, platforms, and audiences.
• Strong data and analytics skills, including interpreting and reporting social performance insights.
• Ability to manage cross-functional, multi-threaded deadlines and collaborate effectively.
• Passion for technology, the internet, open source, and/or crypto.

Nice to have

• Experience in a content operation.
• Experience with crypto-native or alternative social platforms.
• Experience with YouTube, TikTok, and short-form video production.
