TL;DR
Systems Installation Assembler (Aerospace): Building and installing aircraft systems and structural components for the T-7A Red Hawk aft fuselage with an accent on precision assembly, powered hand-tool operation, and strict FOD-critical quality requirements. Focus on functional and pressure testing, working with Class A curved surfaces, signing off completed work, and training new assemblers.

Location: Onsite at hirify.global's advanced manufacturing facility in West Lafayette, Indiana, United States. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

Salary: $23.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience.

What you will do

  • Assemble the aft fuselage for the U.S. Air Force T-7A Red Hawk military trainer.
  • Install aircraft systems, landing gear, harnesses, and structural components according to standardized procedures and engineering requirements.
  • Operate powered hand tools, perform angular drilling, apply sealant, and complete touch-up painting on Class A curved surfaces.
  • Perform functional and pressure testing in a strict foreign object debris (FOD) control environment.
  • Sign off completed work and, when authorized, review and sign off the work of other assemblers.
  • Support continuous improvement and train new team members through knowledge transfer.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of relevant mechanical assembly or manufacturing experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications and select appropriate hand tools.
  • Ability to work with standardized procedures in an advanced manufacturing environment while meeting ISO/AS9100-quality requirements.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive physical tasks, and lift up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or protected-individual status is required; a pre-employment drug screen is also required.

Nice to have

  • Aeronautics experience.
  • Technical degree or certification in aviation assembly, mechanics, or aircraft maintenance.
  • Experience working under ISO/AS9100 standards.
