Cloud Engineer (Azure)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $110,000–$160,000 base salary annually, plus an annual target bonus.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure using Terraform and GitOps practices.
• Own Azure networking, including VNets, subnets, private endpoints, DNS, identity, access management, and firewall rules.
• Build CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, security scanning, deployment automation, and secrets management through Azure Key Vault.
• Manage AKS cluster configuration, scaling, lifecycle, workload deployment patterns, resource management, observability, RBAC, and network policies.
• Implement security controls, vulnerability scanning, threat modeling, and support SOC 2 compliance activities.
• Maintain monitoring, alerting, logging, incident response procedures, SLAs, and cloud cost optimization.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure engineering in SaaS environments.
• Production ownership of infrastructure outcomes.
• Deep Azure expertise, including AKS, Azure DevOps, Azure Networking, Key Vault, and Azure Monitor.
• Required experience with Terraform, Kubernetes cluster management, networking, RBAC, and security hardening.
• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
• Experience with container security, image scanning, runtime security, secrets management, and active use of AI tools for infrastructure or automation tasks.

Nice to have

• SOC 2 or PCI-DSS compliance experience.
• Azure security certifications such as AZ-500 or AZ-104, or equivalent CISSP or CKS certification.
• Financial services or compliance-sensitive infrastructure experience.
• Encryption at scale, AWS familiarity, and reusable Terraform modules or infrastructure patterns.
