Principal Cloud Engineer (AI)

Location: London, England; hybrid

Base salary: £85,000–£125,000 per year, depending on experience

What you will do

• Own key platform components across AWS and GCP and shape architecture for scalable, secure systems.
• Deploy and operate ML-Ops and data workloads inside customer-owned cloud accounts across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Work directly with customer IT and infrastructure teams to address requirements and operational constraints.
• Define architectural roadmaps for cloud infrastructure and developer experience.
• Improve existing systems and pipelines while supporting frequent, safe releases.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and architectural guidance.

Requirements

• Deep experience with AWS or GCP; experience with both is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking.
• Fluency in Python and Terraform.
• Experience designing or owning CI/CD pipelines for frequent, safe releases.
• Experience with collaborative agile practices including pair programming, mobbing, and TDD.
• Ability to take ownership of ambiguous problems from discovery through delivery.

Nice to have

• Experience in industrial, IoT, or similarly complex environments.
