Senior Business Analyst (Contract) (Hybrid)

Location: Hybrid role based in Markham, Ontario, Canada; in-person interviews are required.

Salary: CAD 55.00–65.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements for internal and external clients.
• Lead client onboarding and implementation projects involving complex integrations and business applications.
• Define business objectives, scope, data mappings, file transformations, process flows, use cases, and user stories.
• Collaborate with Product, Development, QA, partners, Project Managers, and other stakeholders across Agile and Waterfall delivery.
• Perform gap analysis, investigate data and system issues, identify root causes, and propose functional solutions or design improvements.
• Review test plans and support QA in verifying that solutions meet client requirements; coach junior Business Analysts.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of business analysis experience in a technical environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Finance, or Business.
• Experience with tax reporting or tax-related service solutions and client implementation projects.
• Experience gathering and documenting requirements for external clients and working on large, complex projects.
• Ability to write complex SQL queries against relational databases or data warehouses.
• Knowledge of fixed-length, XML, CSV, and JSON data formats, plus Oracle SQL Developer, PL/SQL, Oracle, or MS Access.

Nice to have

• Business Analysis certification or CBAP.
• Experience as a subject matter expert, consultant, or lead Business Analyst.
• Previous experience in the financial or print industry.
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, data modeling, process modeling, and wireframe tools.
