Strategic Data Analyst, Growth & Placement (Palantir Foundry)

Location: Austin, TX or Grand Rapids, MI; onsite 4 days per week.

What you will do

• Translate complex, multi-source datasets into executive narratives, insight memos, presentations, and self-service dashboards.
• Query, transform, and validate data through Palantir Foundry Ontology, operational tables, and dbt models.
• Extend dbt models, help build data pipelines, and shape the use of Palantir Foundry across the analytics function.
• Partner with senior stakeholders, including the Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Revenue, to answer business questions and test assumptions.
• Apply data modeling best practices, including documentation, Git version control, incremental builds, and data quality validation.
• Use AI tools to accelerate analytics and engineering work while critically verifying generated outputs.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience in data analytics, analytics engineering, business intelligence, or strategy-adjacent analytics.
• Strong SQL skills, including window functions, CTEs, multi-table joins, and query debugging.
• Hands-on experience with dbt, Palantir, or equivalent modern data warehouse modeling, testing, documentation, and incremental materialization.
• Experience with a modern cloud data warehouse and a BI or visualization tool such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Ability to communicate analytical findings to non-technical executive audiences and work effectively in ambiguity.
• Full-time onsite presence in Austin, TX or Grand Rapids, MI is required; visa sponsorship is not available, and C2C/C2H employment is not offered.

Nice to have

• Direct or tangential experience with Palantir Foundry.
• Python proficiency for data transformation, pipeline orchestration, or scripting.
• Experience in insurance, financial services, or complex B2B commercial environments.
• Experience presenting findings to senior leadership.
• Exposure to agile practices, Git-based workflows, or Jira.
