Sr. Software Engineering Manager - Cardiac Ablation Solutions

Location: Newton, Massachusetts, United States; minimum 4 days per week onsite

Salary: $175,200–$262,800 USD per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a software engineering team responsible for core product software for the Affera mapping and ablation system.
• Set technical direction, development priorities, and execution plans aligned with product and business strategy.
• Plan and execute release milestones, manage risks, resolve defects, and drive continuous improvement.
• Promote best practices in software development, architecture, cybersecurity, testability, and documentation.
• Recruit, coach, mentor, and retain engineering talent while fostering accountability, collaboration, innovation, and engineering excellence.
• Contribute to product strategy through technical assessments, roadmap input, and tradeoff analysis.

Requirements

• Experience with Python and C++.
• Bachelor's degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience and 5+ years of managerial experience, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience and 5+ years of managerial experience.
• Experience leading software engineering teams in a regulated environment.
• Expertise in software architecture, product development, testing methodologies, and team development.
• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required at the time of hire and throughout employment; sponsorship is not available for roles below Principal level.

Nice to have

• Experience with embedded software, real-time systems, imaging, mapping, or medical-device platforms.
• Familiarity with software quality processes and medical-device regulatory frameworks.
• Experience with agile development, platform or product software organizations, sustaining engineering, and post-market software issues.
