Lead Decision Intelligence Engineer (AI) (Healthcare)

Location: Remote nationwide in the United States; remote/hybrid work, preferably Boston, MA, with occasional travel to hirify.global offices.

Salary: $129,300–$177,800 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Model business decisions for member engagement, including objectives, constraints, policies, outcomes, dependencies, and feedback loops.
• Design and build production agentic workflows with LangGraph, LangChain, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Databricks, and hirify.global's AI Gateway.
• Develop AI capabilities for action authoring, validation, governance, recommendations, retrieval, explanations, and optimization.
• Architect scalable microservices, APIs, database schemas, action catalogs, versioning, and policy-driven eligibility services.
• Integrate rules engines and reinforcement learning or optimization models into NBA workflows.
• Establish evaluation, observability, safety, auditability, and compliance practices while leading and mentoring AI engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
• At least 6 years of software, machine learning, AI engineering, or decision intelligence experience, including 1–2 years of technical leadership; the additional qualification section also cites 8 or more years of progressive IT experience and 2 or more years of project leadership.
• Strong Python experience building and operating production AI systems.
• Hands-on experience with agent orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, AutoGen, or CrewAI.
• Experience with enterprise AI platforms, LLM application patterns, tool calling, structured outputs, RAG, memory management, workflow orchestration, and AI evaluation.
• Must be able to work remotely nationwide in the United States; dedicated workspace and internet service with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload are required to protect member PHI and HIPAA information.

Nice to have

• Decision intelligence methodologies, decision modeling notation, influence diagrams, decision graphs, or business decision management frameworks.
• Reinforcement learning, contextual bandits, recommendation systems, or next-best-action optimization experience.
• Databricks, MLflow, Feature Store, Mosaic AI, Azure AI Search, vector databases, or semantic retrieval systems.
• Healthcare, insurance, or other regulated-industry experience involving auditability, explainability, and compliance.
• Master's degree or experience with CRM, marketing technology, or healthcare engagement platforms.
