Zoox develops ground-up autonomous robotaxis and their supporting vehicle systems.

What you will do

  • Own requirements for low-voltage power distribution, vehicle communication architecture, power modes, and power states.
  • Develop electrical and electronic system architecture designs, best practices, and validation procedures for autonomous vehicles.
  • Collaborate with system engineers, component owners, firmware teams, vehicle integration, and vehicle component development teams.
  • Participate in technical reviews of potential suppliers and ensure compliance with hardware standards.
  • Analyze component performance to maintain total low-voltage system power requirements.
  • Develop verification strategies, guide test-plan execution, and perform root-cause analysis for field issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 15 years of industry engineering experience, including at least 10 years in vehicle electrical architectures, ECU hardware base definitions, and vehicle power-state functionality.
  • At least 3 years of experience with model-based systems engineering tools.
  • Strong system engineering, problem-solving, information organization, and delivery skills.
  • Understanding of automotive ECU firmware development and experience developing ECU wake and sleep functions.

Nice to have

  • Firmware development and verification methodology experience.
  • Proficiency in ISO 26262 and its architectural enablers.
  • Experience with LIN, CAN FD, automotive Ethernet, electronic fusing, wiring harness design, reliability, or manufacturing requirements.
