Technical Product Engineer - Advanced Network Products

Location: Carlsbad, California, United States; onsite at least 3 times per week. Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.

Salary: $120,500–$190,000 annually. For specific work locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $149,500–$224,500 annually.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, testing, and technical execution of complex networking products.
• Serve as the primary technical resource for interdisciplinary teams and management.
• Decompose requirements and integrate platforms including FSO, MOJO, MDD, NMR Devices, and NetAgility across the product lifecycle.
• Lead root-cause analysis for hardware and software defects using log collection, cable testing, continuity testing, soldering, and cable termination.
• Manage technical dependencies and preparation for customer demonstrations.
• Conduct technical design and code reviews while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with complex system verification.
• 2+ years of experience with hardware/software integration and hardware/software interfaces.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, trunking, Ethernet protocols, and OSI layers.
• Proficiency with iperf, Viavi TBERD, Linux command line, and modern development tools for automation.
• Validated experience with C, C#, and Python, plus strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer engineering, computing sciences, or electronic engineering. US citizenship is required, and the ability to obtain a United States Secret Clearance is mandatory.

• Master’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or electrical engineering.
• Experience as a project engineer, software lead, or rigor lead.
• Flexibility in ambiguous environments and a proactive approach to identifying potential problems.
