What you will do

• Design, deploy, administer, and maintain enterprise Linux environments with hardened baseline configurations.
• Perform operating system upgrades, patch management, lifecycle maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Design advanced routing architectures using policy-based routing, multiple routing tables, route maps, network namespaces, VRFs, NAT, and firewall policies.
• Engineer secure VPN infrastructure with WireGuard, OpenVPN, and IPSec, including site-to-site, remote-access, hub-and-spoke, and high-availability architectures.
• Tune Linux kernels and networking systems for high throughput, low latency, VPN gateway performance, and large-scale concurrent connections.
• Build SaltStack Infrastructure-as-Code solutions and automate provisioning, configuration deployment, compliance enforcement, VPN deployments, and security baseline management.

Requirements

• Current Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• 5+ years of Linux Systems Engineering experience, including 3+ years of advanced Linux networking, VPN engineering, and SaltStack administration and automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with Debian Linux and Ubuntu Linux.
• Expertise with policy-based routing, iproute2, routing tables, Linux bridges, bonding, VLANs, VRFs, network namespaces, dynamic routing, and high-availability networking.
• Practical experience with WireGuard, OpenVPN 2.6+, IPSec, PKI, certificate management, TLS authentication, multi-site VPN topologies, and VPN performance tuning.
• Experience with SaltStack, Python, Bash, Git, and CI/CD workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, confidential computing environments, or CNSA-compliant cryptographic implementations.
• Familiarity with eBPF-based observability and network diagnostics.
• RHCE, LFCE, CCNP, or equivalent advanced certification.
