TL;DR
Process Reliability Engineer (Chemical Manufacturing): Building equipment reliability and lifecycle improvement programs for slurry production systems with an accent on criticality analysis, failure analysis, maintenance effectiveness, and asset availability. Location: Onsite at the Aurora, Illinois facility, United States

Salary: $91,000–$122,500 per year, plus annual bonus eligibility

What you will do

  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert for process and support equipment reliability in the 845 Slurry production area.
  • Build criticality analyses, critical spare-parts assessments, reliability metrics, reliability block diagrams, and equipment replacement or repair roadmaps.
  • Perform root cause failure analyses and identify improvements to reduce unplanned downtime and improve equipment uptime.
  • Lead small- to medium-scale capital and continuous-improvement projects from definition and funding through commissioning, startup, and closure.
  • Develop preventive and reactive maintenance procedures, spare-parts processes, and maintenance training using CMMS and related tools.
  • Support engineering documentation, process safety, ergonomic improvements, and environmental, health, and safety initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; chemical, specialty materials, or semiconductor supply chain experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with CMMS platforms, specifically SAP-PM; AutoCAD experience is required for P&ID and schematic management.
  • Knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance, failure analysis, risk management, and lifecycle asset management.
  • Strong project leadership, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a chemical manufacturing environment and lift up to 25 lbs.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Parsable, SharePoint, Reliance, and MS Project.
  • Familiarity with batch manufacturing, piping, dispersion and separation equipment, utility systems, and PLC operation.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
