Quality Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Torrance, California, United States

Salary: $111,300–$176,720 USD per year, depending on level.

What you will do

• Lead process-improvement and defect-reduction initiatives by analyzing quality and production data, identifying root causes, and implementing process controls.
• Optimize inspection strategies, including CMM programming, inspection criteria, sampling methods, Gage R&R, and Cpk analysis.
• Manage customer quality engagement, audits, PPAP, FAIR, and other customer-specific quality deliverables.
• Manage nonconformance, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and Material Review Board processes.
• Develop quality dashboards and reports covering yield, defect rates, on-time delivery, and other KPIs.
• Support quality planning, process validation, new product introductions, and cross-functional problem-solving.

Requirements

• Ability to lawfully access information and technology subject to US export controls and eligibility to work in the United States.
• Experience leading quality initiatives focused on process improvement, defect reduction, and inspection optimization in manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency with PPAP, FMEA, and root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of CMM programming, Gage R&R, sampling techniques, and advanced inspection methods.
• Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent quality-focused experience.

Nice to have

• Experience in automotive, aerospace, or defense and familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or IATF 16949.
• Experience with SPC, Cpk analysis, and customer quality deliverables.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or higher, or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification.
• Familiarity with additive manufacturing or automated inspection systems.
