Senior Controls Software Engineer (PLC/SCADA)

Location: Onsite in Orangeville, Utah, United States. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, test, and commission PLC and DCS application software using major industrial control platforms and IEC 61131-3 programming languages.
• Build SCADA and HMI applications, tag databases, communication drivers, templates, client systems, and redundancy architectures according to ISA-101 and high-performance HMI principles.
• Develop ISA-88 batch control sequences, recipe management, equipment modules, material tracking, and batch execution monitoring.
• Configure alarm management, safety instrumented system logic, plant historians, operational dashboards, and reports in accordance with applicable standards.
• Implement ISA-95 integrations with MES, ERP, and LIMS using REST APIs, database interfaces, SQL, and Python.
• Execute FAT, SAT, and commissioning plans; troubleshoot software faults; maintain engineering documentation; and coordinate with hardware engineers, contractors, and consultants.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer, or Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• 3–7 years of controls software, PLC programming, or SCADA development experience in process industries.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major PLC platform and one major SCADA platform.
• Experience with ISA-101 or HPHMI, ISA-88 batch control, ISA-18.2 alarm management, plant historians, and ISA-95 integration.
• Working knowledge of OPC-UA, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, or Modbus; software version control; and safety logic programming under IEC 61511.
• U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status is required for work authorization.

Nice to have

• Ignition, Rockwell, Siemens, ISA CAP, or equivalent certifications.
• Experience with PI/AVEVA PI, SQL, Python, REST APIs, Git, LIMS integration, or virtualized and containerized SCADA infrastructure.
• Familiarity with GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, NQA-1, and IEC 62443 requirements.
