Mission Manager (Satellite Communications)

Location: Torrance, California, United States; on-site 5 days per week. Travel of up to 25% is required, with extended hours and weekends as needed.

Salary: $113,000–$156,000 per year, plus equity, potential performance bonuses, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead customer missions from onboarding and integration through launch readiness, operational handoff, and ongoing support.
• Build and manage program plans covering milestones, owners, risks, dependencies, schedules, readiness criteria, and communications.
• Act as the primary programmatic point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate Engineering, Product, Business Development, and Operations to resolve issues and keep deployments on track.
• Track technical integration, surface risks, and drive decisions required for mission readiness.
• Improve onboarding, deployment, escalation, and post-launch support processes while translating customer feedback into product and operational priorities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in technical program management, mission management, customer operations, deployment management, customer success, product operations, or a related field.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional programs from planning through execution.
• Ability to work with customers, technical teams, executives, and external partners.
• Experience with hardware, software, networking, infrastructure, customer deployments, or mission-critical operations.
• Strong communication, organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance and satisfy U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace, Business, or a related field.
• Experience with satellite communications, ground station operations, space systems, telecom, defense, or infrastructure deployments.
• Familiarity with systems engineering, solution architecture, operational readiness, SLA management, or mission assurance.
• Experience supporting government, defense, or regulated customers.
