Senior Backend Engineer (Web3)

Location: Remote; time zones close to Europe are preferred for smoother collaboration.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable distributed backend systems powering platform and product capabilities.
• Own backend services end to end, including architecture, implementation, monitoring, and long-term reliability.
• Build and evolve Web3 backend components, including protocol integrations, emerging blockchain network support, and smart-contract interactions.
• Work with product and engineering peers to shape product decisions and collaborate directly with API clients on concrete technical solutions.
• Maintain high standards for code quality, performance, security, and observability while contributing to technical discussions, reviews, and mentorship.
• Use AI-assisted workflows daily for designing, reviewing, debugging, and shipping software.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing and building distributed backend systems.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and software design patterns.
• Experience with containerized systems, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Python, and monitoring and observability tools such as Sentry, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Daily practical experience with AI in engineering, along with strong ownership, communication, product thinking, and system reliability standards.

Nice to have

• Golang experience.
• Hands-on Web3 experience with blockchain systems, dApps, or smart contracts.
• Previous experience in a startup environment emphasizing trust and autonomy.
• Availability in time zones close to Europe.
