What you will do

• Lead the design and development of backend services and APIs using Python and the Pyramid framework on AWS.
• Architect and optimize PostgreSQL schemas and queries for clinical-grade data.
• Build and maintain AWS infrastructure including EKS, Lambda, and API Gateway.
• Define backend coding standards, security best practices, and testing strategies.
• Mentor backend engineers and drive engineering excellence through code reviews.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to provide technical recommendations and project status.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• 6+ years of backend engineering experience, with 2+ years in a lead role.
• Expertise in Python, SQL, and REST API design.
• Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL (schema design, performance tuning).
• Proficiency with AWS services: Kubernetes (EKS), Lambda, RDS, S3, and IAM.
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration.

Nice to have

• Experience with healthcare data systems (HL7, FHIR, GxP, 21 CFR Part 11).
• Knowledge of Pyramid framework, Snowflake, or SQL Alchemy.
• Proficiency in TypeScript.
• Understanding of OWASP security practices.
