Senior Software Developer (AI)

Location: Hybrid, with reporting to a specific location at least 3 times per week in Milford or Warren, Michigan. Travel required up to 25%. Relocation benefits may be available.

What you will do

• Develop backend services for virtual ECUs, simulation orchestration, and model execution.
• Build SIL workflow tools for scenario execution, data capture, and automation.
• Integrate AI and machine learning components into simulation and validation pipelines.
• Design APIs for simulation control, artifact management, and orchestration.
• Optimize compute-intensive workloads and contribute to CI/CD workflows.
• Collaborate with DevOps and simulation teams on reliable integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in software development, simulation, or embedded systems.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C++, C#, or Java.
• Experience with simulation or virtualization, including vECUs, FMUs, or SIL.
• Understanding of cloud services, distributed systems, databases, and CLI-based tool architecture.
• Knowledge of MCP-based architecture for AI tools design.

Nice to have

• ML lifecycle fundamentals, vector search or embeddings, and model integration experience.
• Microservices, Kubernetes, and performance tuning experience.
• Automotive data and domain modeling experience.
• Knowledge of ontology-based engineering processes, architecture frameworks, OWL, RDF, SPARQL, and automated reasoning.
