Tier 2 Robot Pilots (Robotics)

Location: On-site in Munich, Germany. Fixed full-time AM or PM shift, with occasional travel to domestic and international customer or partner sites and occasional weekend overtime of up to one day per weekend.

What you will do

• Collect high-quality robot training data by operating robotic systems through VR equipment and hand controllers.
• Meet daily data collection standards for throughput, quality, consistency, task setup, metadata, and notes.
• Follow task specifications and standard operating procedures while maintaining accurate experiment-change records.
• Run structured evaluation protocols with researchers and report robot and model behavior, results, and issues.
• Troubleshoot routine robot hardware, software, and teleoperation-tooling issues; capture logs and provide clear reproduction steps.
• Perform calibration checks, workspace resets, component swaps, recording reviews, and process improvements.

Requirements

• Strong VR or controller proficiency, such as VR gaming or similar real-time control experience.
• Ability to maintain focus while operating in VR for extended periods and follow detailed written or video instructions.
• Hands-on comfort with robotics equipment in a lab environment, with a safety-minded and detail-oriented approach.
• Comfort with Linux and the command line, including running programs with arguments and checking logs.
• Ability to debug routine issues, distinguish environment, software, and hardware problems, and write detailed bug reports.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality, availability for a fixed full-time shift, and ability to perform extended standing or sitting, repetitive motions, and physical reset tasks including moving items up to approximately 30 lbs.

Nice to have

• Experience with robotics systems, lab work, automation, manufacturing, assembly, or other precision technical work.
• Experience supporting structured experiments or evaluations with researchers or engineers.
• Experience collecting teleoperation demonstration data using robots, simulators, or other real-time control systems.
