Quality Engineer (Aerospace Manufacturing)

Salary: $95,000–$140,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Investigate production quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Partner with production and manufacturing engineering teams to resolve defects, rework trends, and yield issues.
• Develop process controls, standard work, inspection plans, and process validation activities.
• Create and maintain work instructions, inspection procedures, quality standards, and Quality Management System documentation.
• Define inspection methods, acceptance criteria, and quality checkpoints, and support first article inspections and qualification builds.
• Train and coach technicians and operators while advocating for quality on the factory floor.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 2–6+ years of experience in manufacturing quality engineering, ideally in aerospace, defense, electronics, or another precision industry.
• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies, including 5 Whys, Fishbone, and Pareto analysis.
• Familiarity with control plans, inspection plans, FMEA, SPC, and quality documentation.
• Strong data analysis, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Must meet ITAR eligibility requirements: U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience with wire harness, electronics assembly, or electromechanical manufacturing.
• Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO quality systems.
• Experience supporting new product introductions, inspection fixtures, test methods, or automated quality checks.
