Quality Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States; onsite Monday through Friday. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or relocation.

Salary: $103,520–$155,280 per year, with a stated midpoint of $129,400.

What you will do

• Own manufacturing quality on the production floor and partner with technicians and engineers to keep builds on schedule.
• Investigate manufacturing nonconformances and customer complaints, leading root-cause investigations through closure.
• Develop quality control plans and tests for mechanical, electrical, and optical subassemblies.
• Support supplier quality activities, including FAI management, SCAR ownership, supplier meetings, and DFMEA.
• Drive Lean, Kaizen, 5S, and Six Sigma improvements to reduce yield loss, rework, and downtime.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and leadership during NPI and cross-functional quality issue resolution.

Requirements

• BS or MS in a relevant engineering discipline, such as Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage conflicting priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite in the Sunnyvale, California office Monday through Friday.
• Visa sponsorship and relocation are not available for this position.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality system standards.
• Proficiency in GD&T, SPC, process capability indices, and FMEA.
• Experience preparing 8D reports, applying 5 Whys, and leading cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Experience with mechanical, optical, and electrical metrology tools.
• Experience with Quickbase, JIRA, Tableau, Oracle, or JMP.
