Senior Detection Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $159,800–$235,000 USD annually, plus potential equity grants.

What you will do

• Design, implement, tune, and maintain custom security detections and risk-based analytics.
• Integrate threat intelligence, security tooling, logs, and structured or unstructured telemetry into alerting pipelines.
• Build agentic tooling and automation to improve detection effectiveness, efficiency, and alert quality.
• Develop detection coverage across cloud infrastructure, corporate endpoints, identity systems, and marketplace platforms.
• Maintain detection repositories, use-case libraries, standards, and documentation while optimizing detection content.
• Collaborate with data pipelines, incident response, insider risk, and threat intelligence teams; participate in on-call rotations and mentor other engineers.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in secure coding, alert development, and detection engineering.
• Experience building, maintaining, and operating detection-as-code pipelines.
• Proven experience creating automation and agents that improve detection accuracy, velocity, or quality.
• Extensive knowledge of cloud-based and distributed systems.
• Mastery of SIEM querying with SQL, SPL, or KQL and programming with Python, Go, or similar languages.
• Experience applying MITRE ATT&CK, D3FEND, and other security frameworks to detection coverage, plus strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

• Experience with Snowflake, Cortex, or Google SecOps.
