Paranoids Detection Engineering Senior Manager (Cybersecurity)

Location: United States of America; flexible hybrid work with occasional in-person events or team sessions.

Salary: $143,625–$299,375 per year, plus possible discretionary annual bonus or commissions.

What you will do

• Lead and support a team of detection engineers developing and maintaining threat detection rules.
• Shape and execute cybersecurity detection strategy with Threat Detection and Response leadership.
• Brainstorm and develop detection, threat hunting, and purple-team initiatives.
• Guide sprint planning, research commitments, and deployment of detection capabilities.
• Support cybersecurity investigations and collaborate with Incident Response, Insider Threat, and Advanced Cyber Threats teams.
• Use data science and artificial intelligence to identify threats across hirify.global infrastructure and validate new detection capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience leading security or engineering teams.
• Experience with Python, performant SQL querying, ETL workflows and tools, and SIEM platforms.
• Experience with statistical analysis, machine learning models, and cloud infrastructure, preferably GCP and AWS.
• Understanding of threat detection frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and the Lockheed Martin Cyber Kill Chain.
• Experience applying threat intelligence to build effective detection logic.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI tools such as Claude or Codex and sound judgment in applying them to detections.
• Experience with Databricks.
