Product Designer (React)

Location: United States; remote

Salary: $170,000–$300,000 per year, depending on hiring location and level.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end design process from discovery and wireframing through high-fidelity Figma design and production implementation.
• Design and build core UI components for AI-powered mortgage workflow tools, including dense tables, multi-step workflows, and AI-generated content interfaces.
• Establish and maintain a design system and component library using shadcn/ui variants and documented component coverage.
• Write accessible, production-quality React and TypeScript components with correct ARIA semantics, keyboard support, and focus management.
• Partner with product managers and engineers to translate complex workflow requirements into intuitive, technically feasible experiences.
• Define visual and interaction standards, audit the product for consistency, and contribute to product strategy, motion, and microinteraction guidelines.

Requirements

• Portfolio demonstrating high-craft visual and interaction design for complex B2B or SaaS products with dense layouts.
• Production proficiency with React and TypeScript, including shipping reusable components for broad consumption.
• Experience building design systems with component libraries, variant APIs, and documented stories.
• Deep Figma experience with variables, auto-layout, variants, prototyping, and library maintenance.
• Accessibility expertise covering WCAG, ARIA, color and contrast, keyboard navigation, and motion sensitivity.
• Product mindset, clear written communication, user research skills, and the ability to make pragmatic tradeoffs without compromising correctness.

Nice to have

• Experience designing AI UX, including uncertainty, intervention affordances, streaming content, and error states.
• Experience with data-dense interfaces, filtering and sorting, bulk actions, task-based testing, heuristic reviews, or telemetry-informed iteration.
• Experience with Vite, Tailwind CSS, GraphQL/Apollo Client, Turborepo, PNPM, React Testing Library, or MSW.
