What you will do

• Own product design from problem definition through launch, iteration, and adoption.
• Partner with product managers and engineers to define workflows, validate concepts, and improve metrics such as activation and filing completion.
• Use Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and Claude Code to clarify ambiguous tax workflows, explore interactions, and prototype against real product surfaces.
• Conduct customer interviews and usability tests with controllers, AP leads, founders, and other finance or operations users.
• Translate validated concepts into production-ready Figma designs with comprehensive states, shared-system alignment, and tax-specific edge cases.
• Contribute prompts, patterns, design-system improvements, critiques, and reviews across the design team.

Requirements

• Experience as a product designer on complex, systems-heavy products, preferably in B2B, fintech, accounting, or related domains.
• Ownership of projects from problem definition through launch and iteration.
• Active use of LLMs such as Claude or ChatGPT in the design workflow.
• Comfort with Cursor or Claude Code and with front-end concepts such as components, states, and conditional logic.
• A portfolio demonstrating product thinking, interaction design, and craft on dense, data-heavy interfaces.
• Clear communication and effective collaboration with product managers, engineers, and customers.

Nice to have

• Experience planning and running interviews or usability tests with finance, accounting, or operations users.
• Familiarity with design systems and extending shared components.
