Chemical Process Technician/Operator (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Newark, Delaware, United States. Requires 8- or 12-hour day or night shifts, including weekends and holidays, with schedule changes and overtime as needed.

What you will do

• Operate automatic and manual process equipment, including PLC-controlled systems, mixers, pumps, valves, distillation columns, steam systems, and delivery systems.
• Run complex liquid and chemical batch manufacturing processes and operate machinery for roll-good material production.
• Load, unload, transfer, and package chemicals and finished products while following safety procedures.
• Collect and analyze samples, perform product quality inspections, and escalate abnormalities.
• Troubleshoot production issues, make corrections, and maintain housekeeping, preventive maintenance, and production schedules.
• Collaborate in shift meetings, problem-solving sessions, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of prior experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, numerical and analytical skills, and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to use manufacturing machinery, mobile equipment such as forklifts, hand tools, testing devices, and computer systems safely and accurately.
• Ability to wear required PPE and QPE, handle chemicals safely, climb ladders, perform repetitive and overhead work, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Nice to have

• Vocational school training or an associate degree.
