Chemical Scale-Up Technician

Location: New Jersey area, United States; onsite work in a chemical manufacturing environment

Salary: $28.90–$37.36 per hour, depending on experience and education

What you will do

• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.
• Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement repairs to reduce production downtime.
• Support the installation, testing, commissioning, and modification of production equipment.
• Maintain technical documentation, drawings, maintenance records, and inspection reports.
• Support risk assessments, permit-to-work activities, shutdown planning, and safe operating procedures.
• Collaborate with operations, engineers, suppliers, contractors, and cross-functional teams to improve equipment reliability.

Requirements

• Background in chemical processing and experience translating lab-scale processes into manufacturing operations.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues and perform hands-on repairs.
• Knowledge of safe work practices, permit systems, risk controls, and regulatory requirements in industrial environments.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals, maintain accurate records, and use CMMS and standard office applications.
• Strong communication, planning, prioritization, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
