Software Engineer II (AI/.NET)

Location: Remote, United States. Work from home with company-provided technology, a stable internet connection, and minimum speeds of 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.

Salary: $89,300–$115,000 annual full-time salary.

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve software applications using Microsoft technologies.
• Perform programming assignments, unit testing, legacy-component refactoring, and application optimization.
• Estimate task effort, compare estimates with actual time spent, and improve estimation accuracy.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and mentor junior programmers.
• Communicate directly with product owners and end users.
• Apply AI coding assistants, prompt design, LLM APIs, retrieval-augmented generation, and function or tool calling in engineering workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT, computer, or technical field, or equivalent experience; a high school diploma is required.
• At least 2 years of progressive computer programming experience with ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#, and SQL.
• Experience with web development programming in a client/server setup.
• Experience designing relational databases and writing queries and stored procedures with MySQL or Microsoft SQL.
• Experience with object-oriented analysis and development within large enterprise-level applications.
• Experience with XSLT and XML, plus HTTP, C#, and SQL optimization experience.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants in day-to-day development, understanding of prompt design and evaluation for engineering workflows, and familiarity with LLM APIs and basic retrieval-augmented generation and function or tool-calling patterns.
• Ability to validate AI-generated output for correctness, security, and bias.
• Experience with VSCode, strong coding proficiency, analytical problem-solving, organization, prioritization, multitasking, time management, confidentiality, and effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to establish cooperative relationships and provide effective customer service to internal and external customers.

Nice to have

• Experience developing and consuming web services.
• Experience building lightweight AI-enabled features into production systems.
