Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Draper, Utah, United States (Hybrid)

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, and support enterprise applications, backend services, and RESTful APIs across multiple commerce platforms.
• Build and maintain integrations with internal systems, enterprise platforms, and third-party services.
• Own projects from technical design through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing production support.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions for customer and business needs.
• Investigate complex technical issues, troubleshoot production applications, perform root-cause analysis, and improve reliability, performance, scalability, and technical debt.
• Develop automated tests, participate in architecture and code reviews, improve CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling, and evaluate AI-enabled solutions and emerging technologies.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience developing, maintaining, and supporting production applications and services.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design principles, dependency injection, automated testing, maintainable code design, and software quality practices.
• Experience with C#, .NET, Java, Python, or comparable technologies.
• Experience designing, building, integrating, and consuming RESTful APIs and distributed services.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases, including troubleshooting and performance optimization.
• Experience developing and supporting applications in cloud environments and working with modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills across engineering, product, and business teams.
• Ability to independently own technical projects, make sound engineering decisions, deliver through production deployment, and remain accountable for reliability, maintainability, and business outcomes.
• Customer-focused mindset, strong engineering judgment, continuous learning, and ability to incorporate constructive feedback.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with Azure cloud technologies and services, Databricks, Splunk, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
• Understanding of event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
• Experience developing or supporting AI-enabled products, integrations, or workflows.
• Experience influencing technical direction, improving engineering practices, or mentoring engineers.
• Ability to connect technical decisions to customer needs, business objectives, and measurable outcomes.
• Ownership, initiative, enthusiasm for reliable and scalable systems, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
