Strategic Sourcing Manager - Printed Wiring Boards

Location: Hybrid/site-based in the United States; remote work is listed for Florida and California, with office locations in Carlsbad, California, and Tempe, Arizona. Employees work at least 3 days or 60% per week from a hirify.global office or work location. U.S. citizenship is required, and the ability to obtain a United States Top Secret Clearance is required.

Salary: $150,500–$237,500 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $187,000–$280,000 annually.

What you will do

• Develop multi-year sourcing strategies for bare PWBs, HDI, RF, rigid-flex, and high-speed PWBs, cable assemblies, wire harnesses, connectors, and electromechanical interconnects.
• Identify, qualify, and manage strategic suppliers, including RFQs, scorecards, business reviews, and executive-level relationships.
• Lead negotiations for pricing, contracts, capacity commitments, and service agreements.
• Build should-cost models and deliver cost reductions through design-to-cost, value engineering, competitive sourcing, and supply-base optimization.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Program Management, and Supply Chain on DFM/DFX, NPI, design transitions, lead-time improvements, and corrective actions.
• Develop continuity-of-supply and risk-mitigation plans while ensuring compliance with applicable defense, export-control, cybersecurity, and responsible-sourcing requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
• 10+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain experience, including 5+ years managing electronic manufacturing commodities.
• Expertise in bare PWBs, PCB fabrication technologies, cable assemblies, wire harnesses, EMS, and contract manufacturing environments.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Experience with SAP, Oracle, Ariba, or comparable ERP and sourcing systems.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a United States Top Secret Clearance; willingness to travel up to 20% is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, satellite, telecommunications, or high-reliability electronics.
• Knowledge of IPC-6012, IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
• Understanding of RF, high-frequency, and space-grade electronics.
• CPSM, CPSD, CPM, or equivalent certification.
• MBA or another advanced degree.
