Sr. Operations Manager - Metals

What you will do

• Lead the overall results of a multi-shift metals manufacturing operation across safety, quality, reliability, cost, continuous improvement, employee engagement, and talent management.
• Champion lean manufacturing through the hirify.global Performance System, eliminating waste, creating value, and building a continuous improvement culture.
• Plan and manage plant capital and operating expenses while driving financial performance and adapting to business conditions.
• Develop the workforce through staffing, performance management, training, coaching, mentoring, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Oversee manufacturing activities for new product development and introductions, ensuring product manufacturability and operational readiness.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, planning and scheduling, information systems, supply management, customer service, and quality teams to improve delivery reliability and resolve operational issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8–10 years of successful management experience focused on operations and manufacturing processes, including at least 4 years leading salaried employees at a senior level.
• Strong experience establishing strategic direction and implementing objectives, plans, and operational initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to lead manufacturing change initiatives through the successful application of lean manufacturing principles.
• Understanding of business principles and financial management, with strong written, verbal, presentation, and influencing skills.
• Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice to have

• Experience with metal fabrication, assembly systems, or painting.
• Experience with manufacturing communication and office automation tools used in an HMI environment.
