Manager, Manufacturing Engineering – Module Frames

Location: Remote, with the role listed in Nashville, Tennessee, USA. International and domestic travel is required up to 50%, with occasional flexible schedules to support global teams.

What you will do

• Lead the Module Frames Manufacturing Engineering team through new-equipment launches and large-scale supplier capacity expansion.
• Drive concurrent engineering from concept through design release, providing DFM/DFMA recommendations and translating supplier capabilities into design requirements.
• Lead prototype builds, supplier trials, factory validations, tooling readiness, and technical readiness for complex steel roll-forming geometries.
• Develop value-engineering and cost-reduction solutions covering design alternatives, tooling, yield, cycle time, and process improvements.
• Manage engineering changes in the PLM system and ensure controlled implementation, risk assessment, supplier readiness, and documentation.
• Lead technical escalations and structured corrective actions using 8D, 5-Why, Pareto, and other root-cause methods.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, with 15+ years of relevant manufacturing engineering or industrialization experience for steel components and assemblies.
• 15+ years of experience with complex-shape roll-formed steel products and demonstrated experience installing and commissioning production equipment.
• 10+ years serving large OEM customers in renewable energy, automotive, consumer electronics, consumer goods, or industrial manufacturing.
• 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams with direct reports.
• Experience with supplier-facing process and tooling readiness, validation builds, on-site troubleshooting, engineering change management, and PLM systems.
• Excellent written and oral English is required. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, structured problem solving, and global cross-functional teams is expected.

Nice to have

• Solar tracker experience and experience with domestic and offshore Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers.
• Experience with stamping, welding, casting, laser cutting, machining, coating, finishing, assembly, and automation.
• SSGB, PMP, Lean Manufacturing, Journeyman, or other industry certifications.
• Experience designing and deploying new processes and strengthening documentation and readiness controls.
