Senior Engineer, Automated Test (R4461)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for autonomy and UI applications.
• Build scalable functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing infrastructure across distributed software and hardware environments.
• Create GitLab CI/CD pipelines with YAML and shell scripting for automated build, test, and deployment workflows.
• Develop Python utilities, test harnesses, simulators, stubs, and mocks for testing in simulated and hardware-in-the-loop environments.
• Develop UI and API test automation using Go and TypeScript, analyze failures, and improve test coverage, execution speed, maintainability, and observability.
• Build AI-assisted engineering workflows for test generation, log analysis, failure triage, debugging, and developer productivity.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building scalable automation frameworks or developer tooling in Python.
• 5+ years of experience with package management, dependency management, and build systems such as conan, pip, setuptools, poetry, and nix or similar tools.
• 5+ years of experience building tooling for automated log collection, analytics, reporting, and failure triage.
• Strong knowledge of asynchronous and concurrent Python programming, distributed systems testing, automated validation, and software quality methodologies.
• Experience with GitLab CI, YAML, shell scripting, Linux development environments, and testing backend services, APIs, and web-based UIs.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills in cross-functional engineering environments.

Nice to have

• Python interoperability with native C/C++ libraries and applications.
• Go or TypeScript proficiency for automation tooling or UI test development.
• C++ development or testing experience.
• Experience in aerospace, robotics, autonomy, safety-critical software, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, or embedded systems testing.
