QA Software Engineer (Embedded Systems)

Location: Onsite at hirify.global's Sydney headquarters, Australia

What you will do

• Develop and maintain automated tests within existing CI/CD pipelines.
• Design and execute test cases for embedded software features and integrations.
• Perform manual testing and support field validation where required.
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineers to clarify requirements and improve test coverage.
• Support regression, integration, system, release verification, traceability, and quality reporting activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in Software QA, Verification & Validation, or Test Engineering.
• Strong Python skills with experience using pytest, Playwright, Selenium, or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with Linux environments, basic scripting, JIRA, Confluence, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and focus on product quality and reliability.

Nice to have

• Experience testing embedded or hardware-integrated systems.
• Exposure to test management tools such as Xray.
• Experience with simulation, mocking, or hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Basic understanding of performance testing and benchmarking.
