Senior Business Analyst (P&C Insurance)

Location: Hybrid, with two days in the office weekly for candidates near Atlanta, Boston, Hartford, or Manhattan NYC

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 per year, plus performance-based bonus

What you will do

• Lead analysis for underwriting, rate/quote/bind workflows, policy lifecycle changes, and claims enhancements.
• Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements through interviews, workshops, and data analysis.
• Map current-state processes, identify improvement opportunities, and define optimized future-state workflows.
• Partner with product owners, architects, developers, and testing teams to align technical delivery with business needs.
• Translate complex business needs into process flows, data mappings, user stories, BRDs, and other delivery artifacts.
• Facilitate solution design, prioritization, backlog grooming, story refinement, acceptance criteria, and defect triage.

Requirements

• 5+ years of business analysis experience in the Property & Casualty insurance industry.
• Experience with rate/quote/bind processes and claims lifecycle initiatives, preferably in small commercial, specialty, or personal lines.
• Deep knowledge of underwriting, rating, quoting, binding, endorsements, renewals, and claims processes.
• Experience creating process maps, use cases, user stories, data dictionaries, and functional specifications.
• Experience with Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, or Lucidchart.
• Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills.
