Engineering Technician

Location: Tempe, Arizona; site-based role requiring work from a hirify.global office or work location at least 3 days per week

Salary: $32.21–$50.96 per hour; $40.14–$60.34 per hour for specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area

What you will do

• Perform manual and automated development testing on electronic components, units, and test systems.
• Bring up new devices under test on specialized test equipment and resolve hardware, cabling, software, and configuration issues.
• Develop and optimize measurement techniques, test methods, procedures, fixtures, and scalable test solutions.
• Troubleshoot test failures and identify root causes across devices, instrumentation, and test systems.
• Build, modify, maintain, and configure test racks, equipment, fixtures, and laboratory systems.
• Collaborate with Test, Design, Manufacturing, and other engineering teams while transitioning designs into production.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in electronics, test engineering support, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting electronic systems and familiarity with test equipment and measurement techniques.
• Ability to support the design and implementation of early-stage test systems and solve evolving technical problems.
• Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.
• US citizenship is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in development or new product introduction environments.
• Experience with RF equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators.
• Experience with environmental testing, including TVAC, thermal cycling, or vibration.
• Exposure to Python, LabVIEW, or similar test automation and scripting tools.
• Experience building or modifying test racks, fixtures, or specialized test equipment systems.
