Associate Test Engineer (Electromagnetic Laboratory)

Salary: $88,800–$101,800 USD annual starting pay for roles hired in California.

What you will do

• Develop and execute RF, antenna over-the-air, and EMC measurements and tests against client requirements and aerospace and defense standards.
• Create Python and MATLAB automation scripts to reduce test time and streamline data collection.
• Support clients during real-time troubleshooting, analyze test data, and prepare compliance-ready reports and certificates.
• Collaborate with the test engineering organization in Torrance, California, to refine test methods and measurement techniques.
• Support calibration and preventive maintenance for laboratory equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field.
• 1–3 years of test engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 0–1 years with a master’s degree.
• Experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, and power supplies.
• Understanding of RF, antenna OTA, and EMC testing principles, including MIL-STD-461 and DO-160.
• Experience developing automated test stands for hardware and communicating clearly in writing and verbally.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, or otherwise eligible for required ITAR authorizations; future security clearance may be required.

Nice to have

• Experience with RF, antenna OTA, and EMC testing and advanced RF measurement equipment, including VNAs and spectrum analyzers.
• Object-oriented programming experience with Python.
• Client-facing project management experience in a multi-client or commercial test house.
• Knowledge of MIL-STD-810, CISPR, IEC 61000, or ISO automotive EMC standards.
