Systems Engineer VI – Test (Aerospace)

Location: Reno, Nevada or Folsom, California, United States. Travel to test facilities and customer sites is required.

Salary: $161,016–$279,160 base salary annually; California range: $169,490–$279,160; Nevada range: $161,016–$265,202. Incentive plan eligible.

What you will do

• Serve as the principal technical authority for propulsion system integration and test engineering.
• Define enterprise test strategies, technical standards, best practices, and long-term engineering roadmaps.
• Lead development, qualification, production, and flight test programs across multiple programs.
• Provide technical direction for SWIL, HWIL, automated test systems, instrumentation, controls, data acquisition, and test software.
• Direct root-cause investigations, anomaly resolution, technical review boards, and customer or government program reviews.
• Advance simulation, automation, digital engineering, model-based verification, test facilities, and enterprise test infrastructure while mentoring senior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related STEM field.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in propulsion system integration and test engineering within aerospace, defense, or another high-reliability industry.
• Expertise in propulsion systems, rocket motor testing, qualification, acceptance and production testing, verification methodologies, MIL-STDs, and government certification processes.
• Advanced programming proficiency in C/C++, MATLAB, Simulink, and Python, plus experience with real-time simulation, test automation, instrumentation, controls, and data acquisition.
• Working knowledge of RS-422, RS-485, CAN, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and UDP/IP communication protocols.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Clearance and qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR requirements.
