Analyst, Global Investment Banking

Location: On-site full-time in Calgary, Canada

What you will do

• Conduct industry research, quantitative analysis, valuation work, and financial analysis for investment banking opportunities.
• Prepare client proposals, pitchbooks, presentations, and supporting industry and financial analysis.
• Develop and audit sophisticated financial models for transaction execution and strategic analysis.
• Support M&A, capital raising, corporate finance advisory, and complex risk management assignments across energy and infrastructure sectors.
• Assist with company due diligence and organize information for transaction execution and decision-making.
• Collaborate with senior bankers, product specialists, clients, and stakeholders across global offices.

Requirements

• Degree in commerce, business, finance, economics, or a STEM-related field.
• Experience or relevant coursework in capital markets, investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, project finance, tax equity, or investment analysis.
• Strong analytical skills and knowledge of valuation techniques, cash flow and return analysis, accounting principles, financial statements, and business combinations.
• Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and financial market data tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, accountability, motivation, and collaborative teamwork.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and hold a valid work or study permit where applicable.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related discipline.
• Direct investment banking experience or knowledge of power, renewables, utilities, infrastructure, midstream, or energy transition sectors.
• Experience with FactSet, Bloomberg, or other relevant industry software.
