Site Reliability Engineer (US Government)

Location: Washington, D.C.; hybrid workplace. Active security clearance required for work supporting US Government environments.

Salary: $125,000–$185,000 per year, excluding potential bonuses, benefits, and long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Maintain the availability of cloud and physical Linux servers in air-gapped production environments.
• Design, deploy, and operate infrastructure using orchestration and monitoring platforms.
• Collaborate with product teams on deployment requirements and service-level objectives for secure environments.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network, systems, and production issues.
• Write scripts to automate routine operational tasks and participate in an on-call support schedule.

Requirements

• Active security clearance.
• 4+ years of Linux systems administration experience; RHEL or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, and/or hardware-based infrastructure.
• Familiarity with monitoring systems such as Prometheus and writing health checks.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Java, Go, Python, JavaScript, or Bash.
• Strong engineering background, preferably in computer science, mathematics, software engineering, physics, or data science.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker or Podman and OpenShift or Kubernetes at scale.
• DOD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification, such as CISSP or Security+.
• Unix/Linux certifications such as Linux+ or RHCE.
