Senior Specialist, IBMi (IBM i)

Location: Hybrid in London or Basildon, United Kingdom

What you will do

• Administer and support large IBM i (iSeries/IBMi) environments to maintain stability, performance, and security.
• Perform operating system upgrades, patching, and management of PTFs and cumulative PTF packages.
• Monitor CPU, memory, storage, and disk utilization and resolve performance issues proactively.
• Manage BRMS-based backup and recovery operations, including disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Configure and maintain LPAR environments, TCP/IP networking, and connected system devices.
• Manage user profiles, access controls, security settings, and troubleshooting in collaboration with vendors and support teams.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of IBM i (iSeries/IBMi) system administration experience.
• Experience with IBM i OS upgrades, PTF management, security administration, and performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of IBM Power Systems architecture and core IBM i technologies.
• Experience with BRMS or equivalent backup and recovery solutions, plus disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Experience managing LPAR environments and TCP/IP configurations.
• Analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.

Nice to have

• Exposure to IBM i scripting or automation using CL, SQL, or RPG.
