Base pay: $82,000–$103,000 USD annually for California.

What you will do
- Support business development with proposals and mission concepts.
- Develop high-performance, lightweight satellite systems, mechanisms, deployment systems, and satellite bus configurations.
- Create concepts and configurations for science and interplanetary missions.
- Own component designs from conceptual development through production, testing, and operation.
- Perform hand calculations and FEA to guide design decisions and lead component design, manufacturing, and test reviews.
- Maintain product definition through CAD models, production drawings, and test and operations procedures while managing schedules, vendors, budgets, and deliverables.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or another engineering discipline.
- Mechanical engineering experience and experience with CAD modeling and technical drawings.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
- U.S. office roles are subject to ITAR eligibility and applicable U.S. work authorization requirements.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree or PhD in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
- Active Secret or TS/SCI clearance and spacecraft or satellite design experience.
- Experience with rapid conceptual design iteration, mechanism problem-solving, hands-on development, and testing.
- Experience analyzing thermal and vibration test data, applying GD&T, and developing satellite deployment systems.
- Spacecraft systems engineering experience, including requirements assessment and interface control document generation.
