What you will do
- Lead or contribute to mechanical design and development of spacecraft, flight hardware, mechanisms, subsystems, and ground support equipment.
- Create spacecraft parts, cable harnesses, and assemblies using CAD and industry best practices.
- Perform structural and subsystem analysis, including hand calculations and finite element analysis, to validate design robustness.
- Produce design documentation such as drawings, bills of material, interface control drawings, compliance verification matrices, and design notebooks.
- Develop electrical cabling solutions and coordinate mechanical, electrical integration, structural, and thermal engineering activities.
- Support prototyping, testing, production workflow improvements, design reviews, peer reviews, and low-rate initial production.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- 5+ years of experience designing complex mechanical systems in space, aerospace, automotive, or a similar industry.
- Strong capability with SolidWorks, Creo, or similar CAD software, and proficiency with GD&T according to ASME Y14.5.
- Hands-on experience with hardware manufacturing, inspection, assembly, and/or testing.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering work, conducting peer reviews, and working with internal and external customers.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance are required.

- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- Product ownership experience across the full product lifecycle.
- Production experience in the space or aerospace industry.
- Experience mentoring and supporting the technical growth of engineering teams.
