Engineering Technician (Manufacturing)

Location: Bedford, Massachusetts, United States; onsite Saturday-Wednesday, 2:00 pm-10:30 pm

Salary: $28-$35 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

• Operate manufacturing equipment supporting metal membrane development and process-related work.
• Perform membrane characterization, performance testing, validation runs, and experiments according to defined procedures.
• Troubleshoot routine process and equipment issues, escalating complex problems with clear technical documentation.
• Support operators and engineering teams with process improvement, quality, efficiency, and new product development activities.
• Collect reliable data for root-cause analysis and help implement process or equipment changes.
• Maintain fixtures, equipment, SOPs, and a clean, safe work area in compliance with quality and EH&S requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or technical education preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or an R&D environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience safely handling, storing, and disposing of powdered metals.
• Ability to work independently, maintain accurate records, communicate issues clearly, and produce high-quality data.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to lift or move materials up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work with required PPE.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting operations and engineering projects.
• SolidWorks or basic design experience.
• Familiarity with SAP, ETQ, or similar material-management and quality-documentation systems.
• Experience improving procedures, equipment reliability, safety, or operational efficiency.
