Senior Accountant (Fintech)

Location: Vienna, Austria

What you will do

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under Austrian GAAP (UGB).
• Manage general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Support regulatory and financial reporting for Austrian and European entities.
• Coordinate audits and work with external auditors, tax advisors, outsourced accounting providers, and regulatory stakeholders.
• Improve accounting controls, finance processes, ERP workflows, documentation, and audit trails.
• Support crypto asset accounting, safeguarding balances, payment flows, finance transformation, licensing, and expansion initiatives.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in accounting, audit, or financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of Austrian GAAP (UGB), financial statements, reconciliations, audits, and regulatory reporting.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, independence, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience collaborating with Finance, Treasury, Compliance, Legal, Product, Operations, and Tax teams.
• Professional fluency in English is required.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite is a plus; Austrian accounting qualifications or Big 4, financial institution, or multinational finance experience are strong advantages.

• Experience in financial services, fintech, payments, crypto, or other regulated industries.
• Knowledge of crypto asset accounting and safeguarding concepts.
• Experience with finance transformation, process automation, or ERP implementation projects.
• German language skills.
