MTS Maintenance Technician

What you will do

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on MTS laboratory test tools, including electrical, pneumatic, motion, and mechanical subsystems.
• Diagnose equipment failures using system logs, alarms, HMI interfaces, schematics, wiring diagrams, and tooling documentation.
• Repair equipment, isolate hardware and process-related root causes, and escalate complex issues to MTS engineering.
• Support lab users with tool setup and communicate required hardware or software upgrades to engineering.
• Assemble mechanical-electrical fixtures, plumbing, low-voltage DC wiring, and electrical cabinets.
• Perform PCB rework, electrical troubleshooting, calibration checks, and recurring-failure analysis.

Requirements

• Experience maintaining equipment in production or R&D environments.
• Understanding of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, mechanical assemblies, motion systems, pneumatics, and controls.
• Ability to read schematics, maintenance manuals, equipment layouts, and system documentation.
• Advanced PCB soldering skills, including soldering iron and hot-air work on fine-lead and BGA packages under a stereo microscope.
• Experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, diagnostic tools, hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, communication, organization, attention to detail, and adherence to safety procedures.

• Experience with firing-systems hardware and software.
