Manager, Accounting (R5544)

Location: San Mateo, California, United States; on-site

Salary: $120,000–$190,000 per year, plus bonus, benefits, and equity for regular full-time employees.

What you will do

• Manage the monthly global accounting close and consolidation process, including intercompany eliminations and foreign currency translation.
• Oversee general ledger accounting, accrual reviews, cash transaction processing, and reconciliations.
• Partner with Finance to deliver timely close and reporting cycles.
• Implement, document, and maintain internal controls in preparation for future SOX compliance.
• Optimize accounting systems, processes, documentation, and governance practices.
• Support quality assurance through review, verification, reconciliation, and analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience in a robust internal control environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, time-management, and prioritization skills.
• Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage projects from inception to completion and meet deadlines consistently.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with SOX compliance and project-based accounting.
• Active CPA license.
• Experience in aerospace and defense or a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, influencing, and complex-issue resolution skills.
